Art has been a constant current in my life, flowing alongside a deep-seated love for music. Surrounded by creative spirits from childhood, I found my own expression through the occasional class, but it was music that primarily commanded my attention. Yet, the visual arts—watercolors, pastels, carving, pencil, and photography—offered something unique: the ability to capture a fleeting mood or scene, grounding a moment in time so it can be revisited forever. This stands in beautiful contrast to my musical life, where the performance is inherently ephemeral; even recordings cannot fully replicate the electric energy of the creative moment.
My journey with watercolors began in the quiet pockets of time after my children were tucked in for the night—a fast, light medium that allowed me to find my voice amidst the busyness of motherhood. That creativity has blossomed into a shared family language: my daughter explores the visual world through graphic design, my son brings fantasy to life crafting swords and costumes for LARPING, and my husband breathes soul into wood and wire as he builds guitars and furniture. We are a family fueled by these diverse pursuits, each of us finding connection and fulfillment in the act of making.
