Taos Watercolor Society Unveils New Logo
What is in a logo? The Oxford English Dictionary defines the origin of logo as an abbreviation that came about in the 30’s, shortening the words “logogram” or “logotype”, each of which were derived from the Greek term for word, “logos”. Logo is used to describe a symbol or design adopted by a company or organization to identify its products, to create a brand, encapsulate an organization’s culture into one, distinct definitive symbol.
Taos Watercolor Society has had a wonderful variety of logos throughout the years, which have changed and evolved as the organization has evolved. Our new logo has been designed by Signature Member Norman Tancioco, who has playfully depicted the watery aspect of our medium of choice.
The Taos Watercolor Society would like to thank the community of Taos for their continued support throughout the years, thank you Taos!
