Rhiannon Laakso-McIntyre

An artist for a mom and a childhood of chronic illness mixed with plenty of art supplies on hand are the magic ingredients that created the artist we now know here as Rhiannon Laakso-McIntyre. She attended an inner city arts magnet high school in California and then earned a BA in Art from Humboldt State University. Rhiannon has been a working artist on and off over the years doing everything from portrait commissions to graphic design. She has also taught art in juvenile offender facilities, privately, through Girl Scouts, and at community events - mostly working with children.

Rhiannon is the proud mother of two amazing young adults (one is also an artist) and the devoted wife of her "high school sweetheart." She manages Beanie's Bike Shop here in Taos as her day job, while also managing the building of a modest adobe home.

Rhiannon started working with watercolors in 2017 (taught by the fantabulous Pablo Villicana Lara) because it called to her more strongly than the acrylic she'd been painting with since high school and it's currently her favorite medium.  Other than painting, Rhiannon is always making SOMETHING. She can often be found in her studio in the back of Beanie's Bike Shop, taking direction from her agent, Betty The Cat."
